I was born in Kavala in 1962; I am married and father of two wonderful girls.
I graduated (1991) from the University of Udine, Italy in Computer Science (2nd Level Degree Course), and I hold a Master of Science (M.Sc.) with distinction (2002), in Finance and Financial Information Systems from the University of Greenwich, London, UK., as well as a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) with distinction (2007), in Information Systems from the Department of Production and Management Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, Xanthi, Greece.
I am a qualified Information System Analyst and Consultant with a high level of experience. I serve as, the Head of the IT Department in Kavala's General Hospital. Alongside, I delve into research and development programs, and serve as Part Time Lecturer in undergraduate programs in the Production and Management Engineering Department of Democritus University of Thrace and as Part Time Lecturer in postgraduate programs of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Institute of Technology. At times I have worked as a trainer in many IT courses as well as external partner - consultant for various companies and organizations.
Many of my research work was published in Information Systems, Biomedical Informatics, Managerial Finance , International Medical Informatics Journals, as well as in the European Journal of Information Systems among others, and I have presented some of my research work in scientific conferences.
My research interests fall in the following areas: Knowledge Management, Hospital Information Systems, Computer Networks, Business Process Reengineering, Information Systems and Information Engineering.
